2024 Version of the Pokemon TCG Battle Academy Revealed

Battle Academy is back!! With new ex cards!

The Pokémon Company International has officially revealed a new 2024 version of the Battle Academy.

This board game version of the Pokemon TCG will release on June 21, 2024. This iteration will feature for the first time, Pokemon ex cards similar to the Japanese version of Battle Academy that released earlier this year.


The Battle Academy product line is a board game version of the Pokemon TCG, it's meant for casual play (with most of these cards being Vanilla cards) and will teach you the very basics of the Pokemon TCG.


The decks are numbered in a specific order to play. We don't know yet if there is an unnumbered advanced version deck.

Similar to the 2020 version and 2022 versioneach Battle Academy box comes with a two-player game board, three 60-card decks featuring Pikachu ex, Armarouge ex and Darkrai ex, tutorial guides, and gameplay accessories. 


Also there are going to be 'all-new promo cards' included: 4 Mareep, 3 Flaaffy, 2 Ampharos, 4 Pawniard, 3 Bisharp, 2 Kingambit, 1 Miraidon, and 6 Picnicker.


The 2020 Pokémon TCG Battle Academy was awarded 'Game of the Year' at the 2021 Toy of the Year awards.

The Battle Academy includes everything two players need to play, with guides to the decks so your first game is easy to follow. You can choose Armarouge or Pikachu to lead your team in a heads-up battle against another Trainer. Then, switch up the decks to play Darkrai against Armarouge or Pikachu, and lead a different team of Pokémon into the arena! With a little strategy and a little luck, you can battle with the best!
