The award-winning Battle Academy is getting a new version!

The Pokémon Company International has officially revealed a new version of the Battle Academy.

This board game version of the Pokemon TCG will release in 2022 (no specific date named), will feature Pokemon V cards and an updated lineup of (reprinted) fan-favorite Pokémon including Pikachu V, Eevee V, and Cinderace V.

The Battle Academy product line is a board game version of the Pokemon TCG, it's meant for casual play (with most of these cards being Vanilla cards) and will teach you the very basics of the Pokemon TCG. It's similar to the Trainer's Kit.

The decks are numbered in a specific order to play except for the Eevee V deck, which is the unnumbered advanced version (also comes with an Advanced Rulebook/Guide).

Similar to the 2020 versioneach Battle Academy box comes with a two-player game board, three 60-card decks, tutorial guides, and gameplay accessories. It's worth noting that the Cinderace V, Pikachu V and Eevee V are all reprinted cards in this product. Cinderace V is releasing in Fusion Strike, Pikachu V is from Vivid Voltage and Eevee V is a promo from the V Powers Tin

The 2020 Pokémon TCG Battle Academy was awarded 'Game of the Year' at the 2021 Toy of the Year awards earlier this year by the Toy Foundation.

We are curious why it's releasing somewhere in 2022 and not released earlier this year. We imagine this award-winning product, would be a very popular product to buy during holiday season this year. Could it have been planned for a 2021 release and delayed because of possible production issues? Much to speculate about.

We will update this article with the official product descriptions when more information has been revealed.
