Japanese Pokemon Card Game Booster Packs Get a Price Increase Starting in May 2026

Rising prices!

The Pokemon Company has announced for Japan that the manufacturer's suggested retail price of some Pokemon Card Game products will get a price increase starting in May 2026.

The reason they stated for this is that the raw materials and other factors are rising in price.

Booster Packs (5 cards) released after May 2026, will now cost 200 yen per pack, instead of 180 yen. There will be no (price) changes to products released before April 2026.

That means a Booster box of 30 (5-card) booster packs, will now cost 6000 yen instead of 5400 yen.

The Booster Pack price also increased from 165 yen to 180 yen before in January 2023 with the start of Scarlet & Violet. That's a price increase of 21.21% in 4 years.

The yen currency is also quite weak the past year against other currencies like for example, the US Dollar, Euro and the British pound, maybe that also could have played a factor.

We also don't know what this price increase means for the rest of the world in the future.

What do you think of this? Let us know!
