Evolving Skies - Build & Battle Stadium Revealed, Prerelease Promos Known Early

Published on 10 June 2021 at 18:13

A new variant of the Build & Battle Boxes are coming starting with Evolving Skies

This is called the Evolving Skies Build & Battle Stadium. It contains 2 Evolving Skies Build & Battle Boxes, 4 extra booster packs (making it 12 packs total), 121 energy cards, 6 damage counter dice, 2 condition markers, and a flip die.

It's essentially a way of holding your own mini prerelease tournament at home with 2 players. This looks to be a regular retail product so when Evolving Skies has been released, you could most likely walk into a retail store and pick this product up 2 weeks later.

Also the sell sheet revealed the Evolving Skies Prerelease promos very early. The Evolving Skies Prerelease promos are:

  • Flaaffy
  • Galarian Articuno
  • Galarian Zapdos
  • Galarian Moltres

Flaaffy looks to be the Dynamotor ability version from S7R Blue Sky Stream. We have not seen regular cards yet of Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres, so we expect them to be revealed later in the Japanese upcoming main expansion set S7D Skyscraping Perfect / S7R Blue Sky Stream.

The Evolving Skies Build & Battle Stadium releases on September 10, 2021 (2 weeks after the Evolving Skies release) and is MSRP is $59.99 USD.

Hi! I've been looking into this set heavily. There is a website that lists all promo cards throughout the years. The SWSH set currently has 119 with the most recent being Snorlax. The next few (up until 125) are to be in the Marnie Premium tournament collection box. After that there is already four more listings. SWSH 126 Galarian Slowpoke 127 Eevee 128 Eiscue 129 Umbreon. These 4 are set to be a part of the evolving skies set. So where you have mentioned Flaffy and the 3 birds, does that mean this set will actually have 8 promos? Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance :)

Hi Kyle. Yes, all 8 are promos that will be releasing alongside the Evolving Skies set. Previous SWSH sets have also had 4 prerelease promos, 2 triple blister promos and 2 checklane blister promos as well. Although, it’s very likely that there will be more promos coming in other unconfirmed Evolving Skies products. I’m expecting there to be at least a Evolving Skies V box and some Tins that would have there own promos (maybe they will do eeveeloution tins again?).

I’m also guessing that Flaafy and the 3 birds will be promo numbers SWSH122-SWSH125. This would be following the usual trend that prerelease promos are numbered before blister promos. That would probably make the Marnie promos be numbered SWSH120-SWSH121, that’s if there’s only 2 Marnie promos.
