S4a Sword & Shield High Class Pack Shiny Star V Coming for November 2020

Published on 27 July 2020 at 07:02

Shiny cards are coming back! Official Japanese online webshop 7net has listed this November set. This High Class Pack set will be the successor of for example SM12a Tag All Stars and SM8b GX Ultra Shiny. This is the subset after S4 Astonishing Volt Tackle.

This set is called S4a Sword & Shield High Class Pack Shiny Star V. It will release on November 20, 2020 and costs 5000 yen (5500 yen with tax).

Update 29-7-2020:

  • Added Official Dummy Pack images.

  • Updated article now with confirmed information.

  • Updated with official set description.

    • Shiny cards are now confirmed.

    • 1 V or VMAX Card guaranteed per pack.

  • Looks like Crobat V in the Shiny Box Crobat V is not Shiny from the Dummy Pack.

Also Venusaur VMAX and Blastoise VMAX are confirmed to be coming as a new VMAX Starter Set cards. They will be available in their new Gigantamax Forms from the Isle of Armor Sword & Shield videogame DLC.

ToineLay mentioned yesterday that the V Starter Decks have sold 500.000 copies in Japan in the first 10 days of it's release. Their marketing techniques seem to work, since it looks like they are really replicating the previous success with the GX Starter Decks from 2018. This set will be a very popular set. SM8b GX Ultra Shiny was very popular. It was very busy during release and very long waiting times. They want to replicate that success too.

Set Description

(Translated by ToineLay, thank you very much!)

  • 190 cards included + Secret rare cards.
  • 1 Box contains 10 packs (10 cards per pack).
  • 1 guaranteed V or VMAX per pack.

We can expect alot of reprinted cards in this set, alot of the Champion's Path and previous Prerelease promo's could probably go into this set. Aswell as some Tin promo's we got here, like Zacian/Zamazenta V and Galar Starters Tins.

Do you know if this set will be released on USA? And if yes what would be the name of set in English?

Allegedly that set will be released a la evolutions (half set), as a SWSH 4.5 set, with a full set card count (190+secrets). Expected release is February: Elite trainer box, tins, and collectors editions will come of that set. It might include another Japanese set besides this one alone.
