A Lost set!

Matt Matoba, the founder of MATOBA DESIGN, has recently released a documentary style video shedding light on the cancelled 14th set by Wizards of the Coast, named Jamboree. Although some fans may already be familiar with this scrapped set, Matt's extensive research involved contacting and interviewing several ex-employees of Wizards of the Coast who were involved in the development of Jamboree. This allowed him to unearth a wealth of information about the set, which was not previously known to the public.

This research was published in 2022 in the form of a comprehensive article, which delves into the reasons behind the cancellation of the final set and the various licensing contract issues that contributed to it. The article provides intriguing insights into how things were operating at Wizards of the Coast when they held the license to produce the Pokemon cards outside of Asia. It is an informative read for any avid Pokemon TCG fan who wants to learn more about the history of the Pokemon TCG.

The video (available below) and the full article can be found on the MATOBA DESIGN website via this link, and we highly recommend checking them both out. The video is particularly interesting as it includes visual elements that help to bring the information to life. Overall, this is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the Pokemon TCG and the inner workings of Wizards of the Coast.

The Jolteon Card image in this article was supplied by MATOBA DESIGN. Please be aware that this Jolteon Card and the Cards featured in the thumbnail are fan mock-ups and not official designs.
